Alisan Porter: Christina Aguilera Set The ‘Perfect Example’ For Me As A Singer & Mom

Winning 'The Voice' was an incredible moment for Alisan Porter, but it was equally as exciting for her coach, Christina Aguilera. After the show, Alisan dished about working Christina and gushed over how impressive it is that her coach juggles work and motherhood so seamlessly! Has there ever been a more perfect pairing on The Voice than Christina Aguilera, 35, and Alisan Porter? Not only are the ladies talented singers and just six months apart in age, but they're both mothers to two beautiful children! It was that bond that made them a force to be reckoned with on the show, according to Alisan. See what she had to say about her coach here!

“I love people who lead by example and she was a perfect example for me as a mother and artist,” Alisan gushed to HollywoodLife.com. “She is such a powerful woman, she is such a strong personality, but she is also vulnerable and sweet and she just embraced me the right away. I always felt comfortable enough to learn from her and bounce ideas off her.” To hear more about The Voice, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!

Alisan connected with Christina from the very beginning, and they took the journey together all the way to the end, when she was named the winner during the May 24 finale. It was SO special for Xtina, too, because this marked the first time a female coach had ever won the show in ten seasons!

“Tonight is a true victory for women and women that work hard and women that are mothers,” Christina said after the show. “We’re just constantly givers and caretakers and we’re constantly just giving, giving, giving. And this format, also, we just constantly are there and work so hard just for something that we are born to do — just to live our dream. And this one right here just proved and earned it more than anybody else.”

It’s so crazy to think that Alisan started her career as a child star (remember Curly Sue?!), then had SO much happen to her (years of addiction and treatment to finally get sober) and now she’s finally where she truly belongs. It really couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person!
