“There are things that I can’t do. I won’t be performing this on this tour because I don’t want to,” Selena explained to Entertainment Weekly. “It’s like when you smell a scent and it takes you back to a place that maybe wasn’t the best place. That stuff is a little bit more difficult.”
Selena has said in other interviews that she is “beyond done” talking about Justin and has seemed happier than ever as a single gal, but it sounds like “The Heart Wants What It Wants” still hits pretty close to home. Clearly she’s trying to fully put JB out of sight and out of mind!
Even if she is totally over Justin, we don’t blame Selena for avoiding such an emotional song. Besides, remember what happened when she sang it on the 2014 American Music Awards? Selena nearly broke down on stage…and we wouldn’t want that to happen during such an exciting tour!
So Selena may not be performing the infamous song about Justin, but there is still a chance for some romantic feelings to spark — if Justin shows up to one of her concerts! Selena attended one of Justin’s Purpose tour shows in March (making Jelena fans go NUTS), so it’s only fair for Justin to support Sel’s tour too. If JB does make an appearance, one thing is for sure: He won’t be hearing any songs about him!
