Radiohead isn’t gone after all! The rock band released a new song titled ‘Burn The Witch’ on May 3, just days after they disappeared from the Internet completely. Watch the video right here!
Radiohead fans can breathe a sigh of relief! It seemed the British rock band were on their way to splitting up after they mysteriously deleted every post from their social media platforms, but a few days later they dropped a video for a new track called “Burn The Witch” — and suddenly they’re right back on the Web!
Following a sneaky release of three teaser clips on their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages on May 3, Radiohead put out the full “Burn The Witch” video. The song is everything a worried Radiohead fan would’ve wanted to make up for their disappearing act, with all the trippy-rock goodness that a classic Radiohead jam typically has. While the tune doesn’t exactly give any explanation for their strange social media deletion, it’s a pretty great “comeback” song!
As for the video, it’s also not very telling of the band’s current status. The 4-minute Trumpton-style vid shows claymation characters touring a seemingly perfect town called “Model Village,” but quickly turns into an eerie flick with an ode to the 1973 thriller The Wicker Man at the end. Needless to say, fans probably aren’t taking any hints from the video.
But one thing that the “Burn The Witch” does hint at is new Radiohead material. The band has been in talks to put out its ninth album this year, as it has been five years since the group’s last album, King of Limbs, and they’re setting out on a world tour in the coming weeks. Judging by the way they so sneakily put out their newest song, we wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped an entire record on us in the near future!
