‘Scandal’: Jake Lies To Olivia After Steamy Sex — Season 5 Episode 10 Recap – Hollywood Life

‘Scandal’ Recap: Jake Lies To Olivia After A Steamy Hookup

'Scandal' is back and crazier than ever. The show returned on Feb. 11 with Olivia helping a new client. However, Jake got in the way and betrayed Olivia in the end. Well, no one could have seen those twists coming. On the Feb. 11 episode of Scandal, Abby became Fitz's new work wife, Mellie and Olivia formed a team, Jake and Olivia got really close, and then Jake deceived Olivia big time.

Reading Time: 5 minutes

It had been six months since Olivia left the White House, and a lot had changed. Well, Sally Langston hadn’t changed. The Liberty Report was still going strong, and her topic was power.

Speaking of power, Olivia had dinner with Rowan. Yes, Rowan. He was raving over Olivia’s accomplishment. “You had the Oval,” he said. “My baby had the Oval.” Olivia tried to dismiss him and the whole White House thing by saying Fitz forced her into being a First Lady. Rowan didn’t really believe her. She never lost power over Fitz the entire time. After all, power was never lost.

She asked her father why Jake was hanging around him. “Jake has come home,” Rowan said. Jake clearly loved him some Pope. When Olivia stepped off the elevator at her apartment, Jake was at her door. Cue the intense stare down between Olake. Then, the HOTTEST, CRAZIEST SEX SCENE ever. Seriously, it was INSANE. It was rough and sexy. Jake smacked Olivia’s butt! Sorry, Olitz shippers. I’m one of you, but that was HOT.

While Jake and Olivia were making crazy love, Fitz was calling Abby at 2 a.m. He invited her to this dinner. I don’t know about you, but it felt a little weird between them. Fitz definitely trusts Abby. You can tell. But is there possibly something more?

OPA — Back In Action

Huck showed up at Liv’s apartment with big news. OPA had a client! She wouldn’t open the door because a shirtless Jake was inside, and Huck thought it was weird Olivia was being so private. The head of the NSA, Diane Peters, was their new client. Despite her power, she’d been hacked. Project Mercury, which contained hundreds of classified documents, had been opened. Diane said her boyfriend, Billy, was the only one who had been in her house, but she swore he was innocent.

Olivia and Jake were totally back together, whether they wanted to say it or not. However, Olivia seemed to be holding back. Like she wasn’t ready to open her heart again. Olivia hadn’t completely left her White House life behind. Cyrus Beene called her up, and she answered very quickly. He needed an opinion about Abby. Could she really handle the power Fitz was giving her? Olivia said Abby was ready.

Abby got asked about Project Mercury during a press conference and knew nothing about it. She went to Fitz and Cyrus absolutely furious. Project Mercury revealed the U.S. was spying on foreign leaders. This Billy character had the documents and could expose things that would NOT be good for Fitz & Co.

Fitz Gets A New Work Wife

The next day, Mellie showed up at OPA. She’d written a book and wanted Olivia to read it. Girl, I need to get my hands on that book. Also, can we talk about Olivia’s wardrobe? She wore red one day and yellow the next. What is going on? I love it.

Jake showed up at the White House to have a little chat with Fitz, who was worried about the Post running Project Mercury. They both knew that the only way this information could have gotten out was from the inside. Despite national security being on the line, these two boys had to discuss Olivia.

“You don’t talk to her?” Jake asked Fitz. “No. I don’t,” Fitz said. Fitz asked Jake the same question, and he lied his face off!

Fitz was driving Abby crazy with his late night calls. She begged Cyrus to help. It was pretty clear what Abby was now — Fitz’s work wife. He always had one. There was Mellie, then Olivia. He was incapable of being alone. Poor guy.

Abby went to Olivia’s and ranted about Fitz. Abby later went off on Fitz and told him to take it easy. “He’s not lonely,” Olivia said. “He’s alone. He doesn’t have anyone. I was the last person he trusted. The last person he had. He doesn’t have anyone.” In another shocking statement, Olivia was drinking SCOTCH. Who is this woman?

Olivia admitted she needed to call Fitz. But Abby knew Olivia didn’t want to open up old wounds with Fitz, even if it was in the best interest of her client. Olivia couldn’t resist, but he turned her down! Good for him!

Olivia Gets Duped

Marcus and Quinn were busy gladiating to track down Billy. Jake suspiciously showed up exactly where they were looking. Jake told Olivia and her merry band of friends to back off, and let him take the lead. Well, their guy wasn’t Billy. Billy was in the refridgerator at that abandoned house. When Jake was there, he was disposing of Billy. Oh, and Jake was now the new head of the NSA. Olivia had been lied to, and she was NOT happy.

Olivia showed up at Rowan’s mad as a hornet. Rowan fired off another monologue about how Diane Peters was weak, and now the power was in the right hands. Olivia was standing on the sidelines. Jake, whom Rowan called his “son,” was taking the reigns of power.

Olivia wasn’t going down without a fight. She read Mellie’s book and critcized the hell out of it. She told Mells to write a real book, one that would get her elected. Olivia was going to help Mellie. Boy, Olivia wanted that power back, and Mellie was her way in. Watch out, Rowan and Jake.
