“I don’t feel the need to define nothin’ to nobody, because I’m always changing,” the actress explains in a new interview with People. “Why say that I’m this or that when I might not be tomorrow?”
As you might recall, speculation over the Scream Queens star’s sexuality first made waves back in October after the release of the uber-sexy “I Don’t Belong To You” music video, which also just so happened to be her first single in eight years. The steamy video, which features the former Nickelodeon star naked in the shower, ends with Keke showing up to a woman’s house in lingerie for what is assumed to be a heated hookup session.
“The video was to represent the young woman today — it’s not the traditional woman anymore — and not the specifics of ‘Am I gay? Am I straight? Am I bi?'” she adds. “I’m making the rules for myself, and I don’t have to be stuck down to one label. I’m gonna follow my own feelings and my own heart.”
Of course, Keke is just the latest Hollywood star to refuse labels when it comes to her sexual preferences. In June, Miley Cyrus stressed that she was “ready to love anyone,” during an interview with Paper Magazine. “I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age,” she told the mag. “Everything that’s legal, I’m down with. Yo, I’m down with any adult — anyone over the age of 18 — who is down to love me.”
Raven-Symone, 28, has also recently expressed her desire not to label her sexuality in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, 60. When the TV host questioned Raven about her coming out, the That’s So Raven star explained, “I don’t want to be labeled ‘gay.’ I want to be labeled ‘a human who loves humans.’
