“To our overwhelming delight, Lamar’s courageous improvement continues on the incline in Los Angeles,” JaNean said. “He is beginning to gradually flourish both mentally and physically. His use of speech has increased and he’s more cognitively responsive. His medical team has executed an aggressive therapy regimen to aid in his progress.”
Of course, Lamar still has a long road ahead, and there are no immediate plans to have him discharged from the hospital, but this update definitely seems to be positive. The biggest problem for the 35-year-old still seems to be his failing kidneys, and he’s been continuing to receive dialysis. On top of that, he’s reportedly being treated for a “lung infection,” and is still very weak. “He still can’t stand up alone,” People reported.
Luckily, the former Lakers star has been receiving great support from his family members, and Khloe Kardashian, 31, has not left his side since he was admitted to the hospital in Las Vegas on Oct. 13. As we previously reported, the couple called off their divorce on Oct. 21, and love from his wife has been what seems to keep Lamar going.
“Lamar knows Khloe’s right there by his side. Every time he wakes up, opens his eyes, or even moves, she’s right there and he’s forever grateful,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Lamar’s always been in love with Khloe, but it is super apparent on his face as he lay in the hospital. Even the doctors have witnessed this. Khloe’s love is keeping him alive. He’s not only fighting for his life, but for his wife and marriage.”
