Kim has been open about her plastic surgery, so when she visited Dr. Simon Ourian before Monday’s DWTS episode for some Botox, she proudly posted a snap on Instagram. Just three days later, she was posting on the social media site from the hospital, revealing she’d had a minor stroke and had temporarily lost the ability to speak, as well as all feeling on her left side.

Quick to voice their opinions, many commenters began wondering if embarking on a flight so soon after having Botox done could’ve contributed to Kim’s medical condition.HollywoodLife.com is setting the record straight EXCLUSIVELY with help from an expert.
“Botox is a safe treatment and has not been associated with the development of strokes, which is usually caused by a blockage of a blood vessel providing nutrients to the brain,” Dr. Joshua Zeichner of Zeichner Dermatology tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “In fact, Botox has actually been used to relax spastic muscles that can develop after some strokes.”
The recommendation for patients receiving Botox is to keep the head upright for 3-4 hours, so it can stay where it’s put, according to Dr. Zeichner. Kim’s flight was long after this short time frame! As of now, Kim hasn’t revealed what caused her illness, but we definitely know it’s been a stressful few weeks for her — between grueling rehearsals for DWTS, flying back and forth from Atlana to Los Angeles AND caring for her six kids, we can’t imagine how she’s managing to keep up!
The 37-year-old told fans she hopes to be out of the hospital by the end of the day, and we are continuing to wish her a speedy recovery. HollywoodLifers, leave your well wishes in the comments section below.
