He revealed to British GQ that when it was time to undress for his steamy love scenes with Dakota Johnson, 25, he had to get pretty creative with hiding his “essentials.”

“Your dignity is intact as much as it’s all tucked away in a little flesh-colored bag,” he told the magazine.
“As a guy you put all your essentials in a little bag and you tie it up like a little bag of grapes and it’s tucked away. It’s quite a peculiar thing to do every day.”

That bit of peculiar coverage was only one of the ways Jamie stepped out of his comfort zone for the role of Christian Grey. The actor also paid a visit to a secret sex dungeon to watch real live S&M sessions for research.
But what he saw firsthand didn’t exactly match the hot sexual hijinks most imagine when reading the source material.
“In the course of researching this character, I have seen the reality very closely,” he said. “I can tell you from an alarmingly first-hand perspective it’s not altogether sexy.”
