‘Pretty Little Liars’ Recap: Mona Killed Toby? — Season 3 Episode 22 – Hollywood Life

‘Pretty Little Liars’ Recap: Did Mona Really Kill Toby?

Spencer might have solved the mystery of her boyfriend's murder — while losing her own mind in the process. Spencer (Troian Bellisario) spent most of this week's Pretty Little Liars chilling in Radley Sanitarium — you've got to love the revolving doors at that place — and even though she's not technically insane, she still found herself immersed in a whole lotta crazy. Not only did she meet the real E. Lam, who Toby (Keegan Allen) stole his alias from, but she also got a visit from Mona (Janel Parrish). And you don't get much crazier than her.

Actually, I take that back. Up until the episode’s final moments, Spencer didn’t seem totally crazy; but seeing her with tears streaming down her face, confusing Dr. Sullivan and two randos for her best friends, got me thinking otherwise. From now on, I think I’ll refer to her as Spencer Cray-stings — because that’s exactly what she’s become.

#WildensBack

Wilden (Bryce Johnson) re-emerged this week, and regardless of where he disappeared to, he came back even crazier than before. He wasted no time returning to his regular routine of harassing Hanna (Ashley Benson) everywhere she went, telling her he just wants to find out where his police car is — so I hope he’s a good swimmer.

Ashley (Laura Leighton) decided to attend a conference in New York City to get away from Wilden, which certainly won’t get her nominated for Rosewood’s Parent of the Year. Seriously, who leaves their daughter behind when a crazy detective — who basically tried to kill her — is on the loose? I don’t care how beautiful Wilden is; he’s bad news.

More Bad News For ‘Ezria’

Just when you thought Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra’s (Ian Harding) relationship couldn’t get any messier, the universe decided to throw another obstacle in their path. Not only was Byron (Chad Lowe) unable to get Ezra the teaching job he so desperately needs, but even his attempt to get a job substituting turned out to be a challenge. Aria had to be interrogated by some administrator about the nature of their relationship, forcing her to lie and say there was nothing going on between them.

The weirdest part was that when she said it, she kind of seemed like she meant it. Something tells me “Ezria” will take another hit — or two — before this season is over.

Yet Another Suspicious Lesbian

Then there’s Emily (Shay Mitchell). She didn’t do too much this week, but she did have a super-weird exchange with Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin. Emily was introduced to her by Shana (Aeriél Miranda), who claims she met the gold medalist at the airport. Does no one else think it’s weird that she was able to lure a celebrity into town that easily?

And Shana does have two “A”s in her name. Just sayin’.

HollywoodLifers, what did you think of this week’s episode? Is Spencer really crazy? Did Mona kill Toby? And what’s Wilden going to do to Hanna now that her mom is out ofd
