Dr. Bruce Katz, board-certified dermatologist and Director of the Juva Skin and Laser Center, thinks injectables are at play in Paltrow’s new look. “She may have had some filler under the eyes and possibly the cheeks. She looks a little swollen there. Her face looks a lot rounder.”
He goes on to explain, “If you look closely, her face is all red. It’s very likely she had some laser treatments (Fractional CO2 laser.) “Usually, you use that to tighten the skin or the pores. You’re red after laser treatments. If you look at her forehead, her cheeks and the size of her face … all pretty red. Her eyes are also narrower which indicates that she probably has swelling from the laser treatment.”
Dr. Steven Dayan, board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon (MD, FACS) agrees with Dr. Katz. “Her forehead has an appearance consistent with someone who has been treated with Botox,” he confirms. He also has a slightly different opinion. “Her face appears mostly swollen around the eyes, not necessarily the cheeks or smile lines. If so, the swollen eyes could be secondary to eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty.) She seems to have a more upper eyelid exposed on both eyelids and even possibly an upper eyelid scar on the upper outer corner of her right eye.” What else might have have had done?
No worries, Gwyneth fans: her face will be back to normal in no time at all. “It usually takes 4-7 days for the redness to go away,” Dr. Katz explains.
Gwyn’s procedures have already taken effect. Manhattan based Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Sam Rizk says, “Gwyneth looks more youthful and fresh now that she’s had the work done.”
