DMX shocked fans by cancelling three shows this week due to a ‘medical emergency,’ and on April 28 a new report claimed that the rapper has checked himself into rehab.
Say it ain’t so! DMX, 46, checked himself into rehab late on April 27, TMZ reports. The shocking news comes just days after he cancelled 3 shows, which his rep attributed to a “medical emergency.” Though the rapper went to get help voluntarily, he was allegedly pressured to go by his concerned ex-wife Tashera Simmons and his manager Pat Gallo.

X flew to Southern California to attempt to get himself out of the “dark place” he was reportedly moving toward. Sources said that he was drinking excessively before his concert in Brooklyn a week earlier, and he has famously struggled with substance abuse in the past. The report claims that he’s trying to avoid letting that happen again, and needs to be strong for his 15 children.
The rapper’s manager apologized to fans for the cancelled shows, saying “It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer. We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support.”
DMX also had a scary situation in Feb., when he was found unresponsive in a motel room. Luckily he was saved by paramedics, and his unconsciousness was blamed on an asthma attack.
