Jason Sudeikis: ‘Tumbledown’ Star Talks Desire To Work With Tina Fey Again – Hollywood Life

Jason Sudeikis: ‘I Wouldn’t Be Here’ Without Tina Fey — Interview

I caught up with Jason Sudeikis to talk his new movie 'Tumbledown', and my favorite subject, Tina Fey. Find out if he'll star on her show, 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'! Jason Sudeikis is known for leading blockbusters like Horrible Bosses and bringing the laughs on Saturday Night Live, but personally, one of my favorite roles of his was as Floyd DeBarber on 30 Rock.  At the New York Film Critics Series Premiere and Q&A for his new movie, Tumbledown, Jason told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he'd jump at the chance to work with comedy goddess Tina Fey again!

Of course, 30 Rock is now off the air (which I will never not be upset about), but Tina has found success with her latest sitcom, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Of course, I had to ask: would Jason ever take a role on UKS if given the chance, thereby rejoining Camp Tina? “I don’t think I’ve ever left,” Jason laughed. “I certainly believe 100 percent in my soul that I wouldn’t be here without her friendship and mentoring,” Jason added. How great is that?

Tumbledown, out in select theaters now, is an offbeat choice of film for Jason, who we’re used to seeing in huge movies like We’re The Millers. “Tina certainly she saw things in me that –- even playing that character Floyd [on 30 Rock], that sort of led to getting play parts like this,” he said about his role as brash New York writer Andrew McDonnell in the movie. Check out the trailer below:

Finally, Jason told me that while this role is a departure from his usual fare, he couldn’t be more thrilled to participate. “This one wasn’t too hard to choose; I was flattered to be picked, though. It’s definitely a compliment when a story like this shows up on your doorstep, so to speak,” he said.

HollywoodLifers, would you love to see Jason on UKS? Tell me what you think!
