“Kim was having some intense contractions last night but everything went fairly smoothly and she’s so happy to have the baby here,” a source told People. “She’s resting now. She had some pretty intense anxiety the last couple of days and especially yesterday just before the baby came. But everything went according to plan.”
It’s understandable why Kim was so worried. She had a difficult second pregnancy, that included problems with her placenta, and her baby going breech during the last weeks of his gestation. Luckily, both of those problems were resolved! After revealing on her website that her baby was breech, Kim tried several alternative therapies, and eventually underwent an external cephalic version to correct his positioning in her uterus. With the breech corrected she was able to have a natural childbirth!
“It feels so good to not have the stress of thinking I need a C-section,” Kim wrote on her website and app. Poor Kim! That had to be so scary! Kim, and her family (mainly mom Kris Jenner and sister Kourtney Kardashian), were concerned about the fact that she gained 52 pounds during her pregnancy. With that amount of weight gained, she faced significant health problems as well; she was at risk for developing gestational diabetes, which could have affected both her and the baby.
But all went well in baby land! Kim and her new little one are happy and healthy, sitting pretty in a “deluxe maternity suite” at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. With her family by her side, giving her support, hopefully her anxiety as ceded!
