We give major props to Nina for trying to stay positive after Ian and Nikki tied the knot, but HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY learned that she was in fact, invited to their wedding — but turned down it down because it would have been too ‘painful’ to attend. Find out all the details!
Nina Dobrev, 26, is putting on a very mature front after her ex Ian Somerhalder, 36, married her former friend Nikki Reed, 26, in an intimate ceremony on April 26. While Nina has stayed on good terms with Ian after their breakup, she was missing from Ian’s wedding — and that was 100 percent her choice to turn down the invite. Is she feeling bitter over Ian and Nikki rushing to the alter? Here’s what we know!
Nina Dobrev Invited To Ian Somerhalder’s Wedding: Turned Down ‘Painful’ Invite
“She was invited. She actually thought about going, but in the end Nina decided it would just be too awkward, an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
We feel you, Nina! After all, she dated her former Vampire Diaries co-star for three years, and though she’s made it clear that there’s no hard feelings between them, watching your ex get married can’t be a fun experience. Of course, it was nice that Ian made her feel included by extending the invite.
“She truly does love Ian with all of her heart, but watching him marry Nikki would have just been too painful,” our source adds. “She’s now closed two doors in her life and just wants to move forward.”
Good girl! Now that she’s closed the TVD chapter of her life (still not over it), she’s now closing her Ian chapter as well. We have not a doubt in our hearts that Nina will move on to great things in her career and personal life!
Nina is already proving her maturity by sending “positivity, love and happiness” everyone’s ways! It seems like pretty ironic timing she posted such a heartfelt message on Twitter, which seems to show her acceptance towards Ian, Nikki and their marriage. Good for her!
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Nina should have gone to Ian’s wedding? Tell us how you feel below!
