Ariana couldn't stop the tears from flowing during a moving tribute to her beloved grandfather during her Honeymoon concert tour. The pop starlet emotionally choked on the words for one of her big hits, and had to be helped out by her Arianators. Ariana Grande, 21, struggled to keep her emotions in check during a performance at Madison Square Garden in New York on March 20. The "Bang Bang" singer burst into tears during a performance of "My Everything," which she dedicated to her late grandfather, affectionately known as "Grandpa Grande" to her adoring fans.

Ariana’s tears were evident from the offset as an audio clip of a chat with her deceased granddad played right before she launched into singing her hit. “Music — you want to do something in music? Go ahead and do it,” he tells her in the recording. “Don’t be afraid of it. There’s so much music; you gotta work on it. Don’t let them challenge you; don’t let them intimidate you. Do your thing, that’s the only way to do it.”

And as Ariana’s army of devotees joined her in song, she couldn’t help but acknowledge their hand in putting her where she is today, as well as her emotional journey. She told the crowd: You guys have made me so emotional…I’m so honored and excited to be here, thank you so much, cool, I love you,” adding: “I’ve already cried 65 times tonight, so I really don’t want to cry again…I really love you guys on a personal level, talking to you guys on Twitter when I can’t sleep and seeing you guys dance and sing.”

Ariana’s beloved grandpa passed away last July, while her brother Frankie Grande was in the Big Brother house, and it has clearly left a long-lasting mark on the tight family.

“One of those songs, that she’s already recorded, is a love song dedicated to Big Sean,” our insider continues. “He’s her first love, her best friend and someone she confides everything to. The song’s lyrics touch on that, as well as how she feels so safe and happy with him, and doesn’t want that feeling to ever end.”
