The 19-year-old One Direction singer wrote the lyrics to the song, “Don’t Let Me Go,” himself, musician Sam McCarthy says, as reported on Just Jared.

“Wow! Thanks for all the nice tweets about the song,” Sam wrote to fans on Twitter after the song leaked. “Harry did most of the words I did the music.”

One Direction Breaking Up?

While Taylor Swift’s ex may be eyeing a future as a solo artist, Harry’s bandmate Liam Payne recently said that he hopes the band can stay together for the long haul.

“I don’t want us to lose the fun we have on stage,” the 19-year-old singer told We Love Pop magazine, adding, “I don’t want us to fall out or have a situation where the band doesn’t want to be together anymore.”

UPDATE: No worries — One Direction’s rep says, “This is NOT a harry styles solo song. its a demo from a year and half ago that was being considered for a 1D album and it is not a solo track. The boys often work separately to save time…”
