From everything I’ve seen, she appears to have the symptoms of a person with schizophrenia. She’s speaking in a strange unknown language, talking to herself, and to things that no one else sees. The erratic behaviour, her strange appearance, the paranoia… This girl needs to be on medication! I know it’s very easy to point to drugs, and yes, she may have turned to something in that sense as a way to cope with our real world, something that can become extremely terrifying to a schizophrenic person, but I don’t believe her problems are actually stemming from drug abuse. Of course she’s going to say that she’s fine, guys. Crazy doesn’t know it’s crazy! I hope she gets the help she needs, but since she has cut her family out of her life, I can see that is going to be a very hard thing to have happen. Also, she’s now legally an adult. It’s hard enough trying to get a schizophrenic child to co-operate, let alone an adult who by law does NOT have to listen to you or do what you say. Scary situation for her and the people around her. Poor girl.

I can’t believe that her first breakout film What a Girl Wants was released 10 years ago! I was only 17-18 when I first heard that title

@ Larry : maybe but I seriously doubt it. I think her imagination and delusional mind is working overtime…

Because a cancer patient is not mentally ill, that’s why and a cancer patient is not a threat to herself or others, that, also is why. The woman is delusional and full-blown crazy.
Period.
No one can commit her till she does something to harm herself or others.
She is just crazy, not a danger to herself. A parent cannot commit her, until she gives them power-of-attorney. And that ,she will not do.She is not worth much and the crazier she gets, the more her net-worth goes down.
She will not be able to find life insurance ,either, until she gets help, and can prove she has gotten help, AND no one will hire her until she gets help. Even then, many people will be afraid to work with her because a mentally -ill person is unoredictable, at best, and alot of people are uncomfortable working with mentally – unstable people. They may not say it, but it is there.

Maybe her parents know something we don’t. If her behaviors are drug induced then an intervention is exactly what is needed. A committal is very hard to get. She is definitely acting out looking for help. I hope she gets it!

why not instead of kicking her out, have her committed. i don’t get it. would you kick out a person who was bleeding on your carpet? and why did her parents “stage an intervention”? would you “stage an intervention” on a cancer patient? the girl is sick. it seems to be obvious to the world. why aren’t the people who have access to her getting her help?

Wow…. how old are you? Sounds like you haven’t a clue about the world and “life”. Your comparing mental illness to cancer? What an idiot!

You must be clueless, mental health is a serious problem which is ignored through out the world. I admit myself it isn’t close to cancer but it is serious and can break down families, it’s not something that can easily be helped with. In a way a mental illness is like cancer in the sense that there isn’t really a cure for it, and medication only decreases how ‘mental’ the person is.
