You heard it here first, and now it has been officially confirmed by ABC! Sean Lowe‘s Bachelor ex won the race to hand out the roses as the next Bachelorette, and ABC finally made the official announcement on the finale on March 11; Desiree Hartsock will be stepping into Emily Maynard’s shoes, and she will begin her journey as The Bachelorette on May 20. ‘The Bachelorette’ 2013 Announced: Desiree Harsock
Sean and his new fiancée Catherine Giudici appeared on the show with host Chris Harrison, where they opened up and revealed all about their new romance. But enough puppy talk, on to the exciting news!
Desiree will be the next Bachelorette! The brunette beauty appeared to talk with Chris after the shocking Bachelor final, and she says she wants “to meet the man of her dreams.” She said “I’m ready and I’m open” and that she wants a real relationship.
Hooray for Desiree!
Desiree, 26, made the final four on Sean’s season, but she was eliminated after hometown dates, and Sean later admitted that she was the only girl he regretted eliminating.
Well joke is on him! Now, the Newport sweetheart will have 25 men fighting for her love, and she has even already begun filming her new season!
“Des was smiling and happy. She definitely seemed like she was enjoying herself,” said an onlooker. And she has got Sean’s support!
“Although it didn’t work out with us, she’ll always have a place in my heart because she is such a lovable person,” Sean said to PEOPLE on March 5. “I know Des has moved on, and I’m hoping she gets a second chance at love – maybe on the next season of The Bachelorette? She would definitely get my vote.”

Agree, not a fan of Desiree.
I wish they would pick new people to become The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, not keep picking them from the season before.
