Taylor Swift's Grammys Performance -- Dissing Harry Styles?

Taylor opened the 2013 Grammys with a performance of her hit song ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,’ and gave a total diss to her ex Harry Styles when she spoke in a British accent! Read on for more details.

Even though Taylor Swift‘s hit song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” was written about her ex Jake Gyllenhaal, she gave the track a whole new meaning during the 2013 Grammy Awards on Feb. 10 when she opened the show with the song, and totally called out her ex-boyfriend, One Direction singer Harry Styles!

Taylor’s famous boy bander ex was not at the show, but Haylor’s recent break-up drama was perfect timing for her Grammy performance. She passionately sang the song while dancing on stage in an eccentric white ensemble complete with a glittery white top hat.

At one point during the song, she blatantly called out Harry when she spoke the line, “so he calls me up and he’s like, ‘I still love you,’” — she said the “I still love you” line with an exaggerated British accent! Harry is from the village of Holmes Chapel in Cheshire, England, so she was obviously imitating his voice. Then Taylor added insult to injury by adding, “I’m too busy opening up the Grammys!”

Did Harry Try To Get Back Together With Taylor?

The amazing performance was filled with theatrics that resembled a circus, including dancers dressed up as clowns, acrobats and performers on stilts. The message tied in perfectly with her song, since her on-again, off-again relationship drama with Harry was a total circus! The couple split on Jan. 4 during a vacation to the Virgin Gorda that went sour fast — Taylor stormed off the resort and flew home early after a fight, and they have been broken up ever since.

Taylor even showed off her toned legs in her costume, and totally showed Harry what he was missing. Even though he wasn’t there to see it, we’re sure Harry got plenty of texts about his ex-girlfriend’s revenge performance!

Why are we even bothering with their relationship??? Think: how would you feel if you were Taylor? I think some relationships she may have done something and some the guys did something, but over all, I think that we do have our personal views, but I reckon that we should stay out because they’re old enough to work out their own relationships, so let them work it out:)

Sure, but it’s always just a ‘little joke’ with her. She should find something else to write songs about because honestly she has completely lost my respect. I used to love Taylor as an artist but all she does is publicly shame all the men she dates. She plays off as the victim in every relationship when, obviously, its not always the guys fault considering she is the common denominator. I think she should just grow up and stop being so immature. And no one is saying that Harry can’t take it, just that she should get over herself and leave him alone.

considering Adele and Taylor are the same age, it seems more like Adele is acting her age and Taylor is 13. When you put the 2 of them together and compare, Adele’s music is richer, deeper, more mature, and appropriate for her age. She makes you feel the emotions, without trash talking her past exes. Taylor sings and dances around like a 13 year old. Her music is geared to that age group, and sounds like it. I don’t hear any country in her music. She dissed Harry, because that is what she does. Maybe she should have gone to regular schools, and she would have learned how to deal with breakups and move on, and mature as a person. Not seeing it. In all honesty, i think there is just too much focus on her money growth, and not enough on her growth as a huma being.

They have different musical styles, Carly Rae Jepsen is 27 and she sings pop songs too. If you actually listened to Taylor’s album than maybe your critique would be more legitimate. If she wants to call out her ex than that is her right. Telling her ex that they are “never ever getting back together.. ever” isn’t trashing them. If she was directing it to him I would hardly call it a diss.

I kind of agree with you, but Adele only writes about her break ups, as Taylor writes about break ups, how much she loves them and she wrote a song about her mother (The Best Day), a song about a little boy who died from cancer (Ronan) and a song about (I think) someone who wanted to commit suicide (Tied Together With A Smile).

personally i think we need to be talking about chris brown and rihanna but… it was a alice and wonderland theme is makes sense she used a britsh accent because… it is a britsh novel. and please dont say her making a refernce to being at the grammies mean she was dissing him… a joke cause she was at the grammies you need to spice up a song you have been singing constantly since aug. 22nd. *shakes head* fan girls.

thank u so much! i support. she’s been through guys more than elizabeth taylor was married Jeez. has it occurred to her that she’s the problem? i mean – jonas brother, Taylor lautner, jake gyllenhal, the kennedy boy lasted a new york minute[lol] harry styles etc she should getting a freaking grip already and sing adult songs. Note to Taylor swift – i doubt any of the above mentioned guys wanna get back together with ever.

You have no idea what her exes feel or NOT none of us do because they don’t speak so it is all speculation….if they want to clarify they can but until they do…people will continue to speculate that is what people do when they don’t get facts. It is always kinder when the comments on speculation are not cruel because all of this is just. OPINION.
