Spencer learns Toby’s dark secret tonight — but will she keep it?
The moment Pretty Little Liars fans have waited three long months for is almost upon us: Spencer (Troian Bellisario) will finally discover that Toby (Keegan Allen) is a member of the “A” team on the show’s Jan. 22 episode — and it’s going to be intense.
“When Spencer finds out, she almost goes through the stages of grief: First, it’s denial, then anger, then sadness and, in her odd way, acceptance, too,” executive producer Marlene King tells HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine. “She’ll [initially] keep it a secret. That’s her journey through the first half of Season 3B, because she doesn’t want the girls to know — especially when she’s still trying to process and make sense of it.”
And Spencer’s reaction, Marlene says, is absolutely “gut-wrenching.”
According to ABC Family’s official description of the episode, “Spencer takes a break from all the sleuthing to surprise Toby for their anniversary,” but it looks like she’ll be the one getting surprised.
What Are The Other Girls Up To Tonight?
While Spencer is busy having her mind blown by Toby’s betrayal, her fellow liars are up to their “A”s in drama.
Aria (Lucy Hale) comes down with the flu — how timely! — and because Byron (Chad Lowe) is away, Meredith (Amanda Schull) steps up to take care of her.
Naturally, Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Hanna (Ashley Benson) suspect Meredith may have “ulterior motives for nursing Aria back to health,” so they do a little investigating of their own.
Oh, and did I mention that a delirious Aria sees Alison (Sasha Pieterse) for the first time tonight?

This is one of the best shows on television. It always has twists and is a show for everyone of all age groups and genders.
