Bethenny Frankel Files For Divorce From Jason Hoppy

The former ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ star is wasting no time in her separation from estranged hubby Jason Hoppy. Bethenny reportedly filed for divorce this week, even though there had been earlier indications that the couple was trying to work things out.

Bethenny Frankel, who found fame on Bravo with both The Real Housewives of New York City and Bethenny, Ever After, announced her separation from husband Jason Hoppy on Dec. 23. Less than two weeks later, TMZ is reporting the reality star took her separation a step further and filed for divorce.

Bethenny Uses Twitter To Express Her Sadness Over Split

“It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating. This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family,” Bethenny said in a statement on Dec. 23, according to PEOPLE.

“We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our first priority,” the statement continues. “This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us.”

This breaking news comes after months of speculation that Bethenny and Jason’s relationship was in turmoil. Earlier this summer, Bethenny admitted that she was fighting for her marriage.

Bethenny Goes On Vacation With Bryn, Giving Jason Time To Move Out

Bethenny reportedly gave Jason time to move out over the New Year’s holiday. She took Bryn with her to Aspen, Colorado, leaving Jason at home to make arrangements to move out.

“Jason is in the process of moving out of their $5 million pad,” a source close to the situation told Radar Online.

“It’s not a healthy situation for them to be leaving under the same roof together because Bethenny doesn’t intend on getting back together with him. Bethenny wanted out of the Big Apple since announcing her separation to Jason. Jason wasn’t invited on the trip, and this is the second trip that Bethenny has taken with Bryn in the last two months without Jason. Jason didn’t want Bethenny to go to Aspen for New Year’s and wanted to spend time with his wife and daughter, but she refused. Jason’s entire world has been turned upside down, and he is absolutely lost right now,” the source added.

Bethenny & Jason’s Relationship History

Bethenny and Jason married in March 2010 while Frankel was seven months pregnant. Their daughter, Brynn, is now 2-years-old.

On Dec. 23, Bethenny tweeted, “I am heartbroken. I am sad. We will work through this as a family.”

In addition to her Housewives fame, Bethenny is the creator of the Skinnygirl line of cocktail, food and nutrition products.

She reminds me of my younger sister who also divorced her husband years ago. Her husband was a “catch” just like Jason is. In the end, my sister has regretted leaving her husband despite my advice not too.

Betheny is a bad risk for any guy given her upbringing, observed behavior and self-absorbed way of life. For Jason, it’s sad but he went into it with both eyes open. One must always realize the following truth: we can never change ANYONE else; only ourselves. ALL girls who lack a good father figure growing up (a girls the father is her lifetime TEMPLATE for relationships with ALL men during her life) will have trouble maintaining a healthy marriage. Even with her ‘therapy’, this woman seems destined (and not unhappy) to live alone. Now that she has a daughter, her self-fulfilling prophecy will come true. I suspect if she’d had a son, Jason would NOT be leaving so casually……

When does his side get to be heard? I live in the area. She was awful to his parents and friends. Looked down upon all. Hope he gets some great opportunities both personally and professionally and kicks her Burt.

After the separation the logical step is the divorce, the sooner, the better. I am praying for both, may God give them clarity of mind to do what is best for Bryn

She is soooooooo annoying. She loves attention and the whole “celebrity lifestyle. Only problem is myself and alot of people will NEVER watch anything she’s on. Her 15 minutes are up, now go away and stop doing the wannabe thing.
