The parents of Alana Thompson, star of ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,’ are facing accusations of child abuse for feeding their daughter ‘Go Go Juice’ and roadkill!

The parents of Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, Mike ‘Sugar Bear’ Thompson and June Shannon, who first made a splash on TLC’s reality show Toddlers & Tiara’s, were visited unexpectedly by authorities over concerns of child abuse!

The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services visited the Thompson family, who reside in the rural town of McIntyre, Georgia, unannounced in March.

June Shannon Arrested — Honey Boo Boo’s Mom Has A Criminal Past

The family was questioned on their outlandish parenting behaviors that were featured on Toddlers & Tiaras, including giving their 6-year-old daughter a caffeinated cocktail of Red Bull and Mountain Dew called Go Go Juice, and serving her roadkill for dinner, according to the National Enquirer.

Authorities “found reason to bring the case to court,” but a “court-appointed attorney” for June Shannon, the family’s matriarch, convinced the judge to throw the case out, a source told the magazine.

On top of the much-publicized Go Go Juice, authorities visited the Thompsons after viewing an online video that showed Alana dancing for dollars in a bar. The video was not filmed by the network, but can still be found on YouTube, showed Alana dancing atop of table in a darkened room with lights flashing around her.

Mom June defended her daughter, claiming her daughter had been dancing in a college bar, not a “sleazy one.”

The family proudly displays their self-proclaimed “redneck” behavior on their new spinoff, Here Comes Honey Boo Booincluding going mud belly flop diving and adopting a pet pig named Glitzy.

Check out a clip from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo below.

Do YOU think Alana’s parents should be investigated for child abuse HollyMoms?

What I see as child abuse is them having her dancing in a bar. It makes you wonder what goes on when the cameras aren’t around.

If you think this little girl is being abused maybe you should read David Pelzer’s books about his childhood, that’s real child abuse!!

Does anyone even know what child abuse is? If we removed every child whose parent made a mistake then we would have every child in foster care. These children are not abused. They have a home food love and they are clean . If this family talked better or was skinnier I think people would not have so much of a problem.. There are obviously a lot of uptight people. Just let people be who they are without all the judgement. Sheesh Not everyone’s life style is the same and yours is not any more right that anyone else. I work with families in poverty and I have different perspective and i have come to love all the kids and families. So just leave this family alone and stop being so degrading please..

This is just ridiculous. Theses kids dont appear to be starving, dirty or abused physically/verbally. There are to many kids in foster care as it is and the kids in foster care have it sooo much worse. Okay so maybe Go Go Juice isnt the best or right thing to give a kid, but how many people give there kids coke now a days its not like they are drugging there kids, its not illegal. The show is cute, they all seem to be having fun and love eachother. Thats what life is suppose to be about, so worry about your own families and stop being so negative.

The actions of this childs mother, and the actions of those who put this GARBAGE on television, should all re-think there ideals and morals. This kind of garbage is not entertaining, nor entertainment. I personally will not watch this program or any programming on stations who choose to serve up this kind of crap. Follow suit TV viewers, and they wont put it on anymore.

“It wasn’t a sleazy bar” Your daughter shouldn’t be dancing in a bar anyway!! She’s like 5!! What was going through your mind when you gave her such drinks and took her to a bar, college bar or sleazy bar, taking a 5 year old to any bar is wrong! Both bars provide alcohol.

I can’t believe all the negativity! Can’t anyone be who they are and not have to be fake from head to toe? So what if they aren’t going to win any triathalons or your idea of beauty! It’s not like everyone can be exactly the same. What a boring world this would be if everyone looked exactly the same. Look at the housewives women they all look the same! Cookie cutters…so what if they aren’t your ideal? More are like her than you anyway!

This is really rich! “Can’t anyone be who they are and not have to be fake from head to toe?” Um, isn’t putting on makeup, wigs and false teeth on your child “fake”? It isn’t natural to see a 6 year old walking around looking like that. It’s creepy! I wouldn’t have so much of a problem with beauty pageants for kids if they LOOKED LIKE KIDS!!! But they are made yo look like like little hookers who pose provocatively. You never know who is looking at your kid, and if you think the pedophile’s are enjoying every minute of this you are living in a fools paradise. Jon-Benet Ramsey should’ve been a lesson to all of us.

I understand we all have a right to live our lives the way we want as long as we abide by the laws of the land…..however, this mother is a prime example of why some people should never have children. The backwoods of Georgia is still in the United States and in my opinion, Mama is profiting off her “redneck children” raised in her image and likeness. It might not be considered child abuse, but sooner or later little doo doo or whatever her name is, will realize Mama is selling her to the media and using the money to fatten everyone up. No different than Kate plus 8 which again got rich from displaying her children. So Sad that people will feed into this show and they will become millionaires…and its absolutely insulting to the other honest rednecks of the world.

Oh please. None of that is child abuse. Well…I’m not sure if the roadkill counts as abuse, but I think it is pretty disgusting…But the go-go juice is something all the moms on toddlers and tiaras do, if they arent’ doing that then they are loading them up on pixie sticks (sugar). So you’d have to get all of ‘em. Personally, I enjoy watching this redneck family. They obviously love each other, they just have a different way of life. Could the kids use some manners? Sure. But Alana is a little comedian and I for one enjoy hearing the crazy things that come out of her mouth, appropriate or not. If they were all well-mannered, boring, skinny, appropriate people then there wouldn’t be a show! I think they are entertaining…except for that loud butt pig Glitzy!

Just because “the go-go juice is something all the moms on toddlers and tiaras do” does NOT make it OK. It is still abuse. She is giving her child a stimulant, and makes no secret of it. From kidshealth.org:

How Caffeine Affects Kids
A stimulant that affects kids and adults similarly, caffeine is a drug that’s naturally produced in the leaves and seeds of many plants. Caffeine is also made artificially and added to certain foods. Caffeine is defined as a drug because it stimulates the central nervous system. At lower levels, it can make people feel more alert and energetic.

In both kids and adults, too much caffeine can cause:

jitteriness and nervousness
upset stomach
headaches
difficulty concentrating
difficulty sleeping
increased heart rate
increased blood pressure

Don’t tell me she’s not drugging her kid. Why would any parent put their child in the position of even possibly going through these symptoms?

Well, the pregnant one actually doesn’t look fat or ugly. She looks like she was a normal weight before pregnancy. Just saying. And one was really trying to lose weight.

And How dare you say that about a little girl! Alana is a beautiful little girl, she just hasn’t won pageants because maybe she isn’t the *most beautiful*, but she is still beautiful.

That is a horrible thing to say (Michelle). It’s because of people like you that kids are committing suicide. You are a bully and should be ashamed of yourself. Alana is a beautiful child and his family obviously has a lot of love for each other. These are good hearted people and that’s what’s important.

That is just mean to say that about that child. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If this child thinks she is pretty who are you to tell her she is not. That is what is wrong with this world, everyone is so judgmental about looks. She is 6, leave her alone. If she had downs syndrome would you criticize her about wanting to do a pageant? NO you wouldn’t, and if you did shame on you!!!

But I love the show and definitely love Alana she has a very sweet spirt and keeps me laughing daily! And no she is in no way disrespectful she’s simply a child who is full of joy and loves to joke around!

There needs to be a show about a family where both parents work 40 plus hours a week and still struggles lives pay check to pay check, juggles kids, kids school work, sports and so on. This is REALITY, this is REAL LIFE. Not some mom who her and her 4 kids sleep all day and fart in public and kids who do not have any respect for others.

In fact you sound like your jealous of this family, which is really sad. You speak about her lack of manners, are yours so much better? Seriously…you ask “Why oh why would anyone want to watch this crap?” Do you even realize that your included in the bunch who watch?
