One of the biggest scandals of 2017 was that of Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver, aka War Machine. The American former mixed martial arts professional, who also doubled as a pornographic actor, was born in November 1981. He had a successful career in MMA, and competed in the Welterweight division. Kopprnhaver was a fighter on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra (representing Team Serra), and also for Bellator MMA, Tachi Palace Fights, BAMMA, and the Xtreme Fighting Championships. In lieu of his fighting success, Koppenhaver legally changed his name to “War Machine” in 2008.
Beginning in 2007, Machine was arrested for several assault and battery charges. From there, he spent time in and out of prison for ten years for various offenses, and by March 2017, he was convicted of a total of 29 felony accounts, including assaulting his ex-girlfriend in 2014.
