There is no band quite like Walk Off The Earth. Formed in Ontario, Canada, in 2006, the group — Gianni “Luminati” Nicassio, Ryan Marshall, Joel Cassady, Sarah Blackwood – is known for their inventive indie pop, their energetic live shows, and their ingenious renditions of pop/rock classics. They blew up in 2012 after a ive cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” on YouTube gathered over 175 million views in a mere four months. However, their original music is just as infectious – and just as critically acclaimed. They have won numerous Canadrian Radio Music Awards, and have racked up a handful of Juno Award nominations. In 2016, they won the Juno for Group of the Year.
Sadly, the band suffered a tragedy in 2018 when Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor passed away suddenly in his sleep from natural causes. After celebrating his legacy with a massive memorial concert in Burlington, Ont., Canada, the band released Here We Go! in 2019. On this album, their first since 2015, the band included “Mike’s Song,” an ode to their beloved friend.
