Since forming in 2005, Vampire Weekend has become one of the biggest names in indie rock. The band began when founding members Ezra Hoenig, Chris Tomson, Chris Baio and Rostam Batmanglij met while enrolled at Columbia University. Named after an unreleased film, Vampire Weekend released their debut album in 2008. “A-Punk” peaked at no. 25 on the Billboard Modern Rock Chart, and became one of the band’s most well-known songs. From there, the band’s success continued to grow. The release of Contra in 2009 brought Vampire Weekend more critical acclaim, as did 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City. That album took home the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Though this heralded a new level of success for the band, it also was a low point for Ezra, who felt burnt out from touring. In 2016, founding member Rostam left the band. For their 2019 release, Father Of The Bride, the group expanded to a seven-piece, with the addition of Brian Robert Jones, Greta Morgan, Garrett Ray, and Will Canzoneri.
