Theresa Mingus – Pics — A California-native, Theresa Mingus is the creator of the Krahs swimwear line, which was launched in May 2019. The name ‘Krahs’ comes from the designer’s fascination with sharks. (Pronounced ‘cross’ it is ‘sharks’ spelt backwards.) Selena Gomez – Theresa’s BFF and former boss – collaborated with her on two pieces (a bikini and a swimsuit) for Krahs’ launch.
Theresa worked as Selena’s executive assistant for four years, before launching her business venture. She fell into the world of celebrity soon after she moved from the Bay Area to Los Angeles when she was introduced to Robin Antin, creator of the Pussy Cat Dolls and became the dancer’s personal/executive assistant. Theresa performed the same role for Kim Kardashian from 2001 until 2013.
Being in the spotlight is a totally new experience for the designer and entrepreneur, who is used to working behind the scenes. When it comes to her swimwear line and making it accessible to all women, Theresa told HollywoodLife, ‘I feel like my whole goal is for everyone… I want everyone to wear my suits.’
