Steve Bullock is a former attorney who is currently serving as the Governor of Montana. Bullock was elected to the office in 2012 and reelected in 2016 by a narrow 4%. Montana is a red state, making his win impressive. This was the same year that Donald Trump took the state by over 20% in the presidential election. Bullock, who went to Claremont McKenna College and Columbia Law School, began his career as legal counsel to the Secretary of State of Montana, then becoming the Executive Assistant Attorney General, and acting Chief Deputy Attorney General of Montana. He also worked as an adjunct professor at George Washington University Law School, before returning to the private sector as an attorney. He was elected Attorney General of Montana in 2008 and served one term, from 2009 to 2013, before being elected governor. He’s married to Lisa Bullock, and they have three kids: Alexandria, Caroline, and Cameron. Bullock announced in May 2019 that he would be running for president in 2020.
