The ninth and final installment of the ‘Star Wars’ saga will premiere in December 2019. The name of the highly-anticipated film was revealed in April 2019, at the annual Star Wars Celebration, to be ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’. The name of the film left fans with more questions than answers. Who is the Skywalker? Would it be Rey, despite denials from the ‘Star Wars’ family, and Kylo Ren’s revelation in ‘The Last Jedi’ that Rey’s parents were just normal junkers? The first trailer, released on April 12 at the Chicago Celebration event, featured a voiceover from Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), who died in ‘The Last Jedi’ after Force projecting himself. He says someone, presumably Rey, has ‘a thousand generations’ living inside them. ‘But now, this is your fight. Cue Rey literally backflipping on top of an X-Wing fighter while brandishing her lightsaber. ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ premieres on December 20, 2019.
