People are lead out of Saugus High School after reports of a shooting occurred on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, in Santa Clarita, California, 30-40 miles north of Los Angeles. The suspect, who was initially described as a 15-year-old Asian male dressed in black, entered the building at 8:00 AM local time and opened fire, leading several to be injured, one of whom died. The local sheriff’s station had advised people, via Twitter, to stay out of the area while they were on the hunt for the shooter. Neighboring elementary schools were also locked down, according to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station, but merely as a precaution. “We have multiple victims down,” said Sgt. Bob Boese of the LA County Sheriff’s Department told NBC. LA County sheriff Alex Villanueva later tweeted that the suspect was in custody and was being treated at a local hospital.
