Known for his roles in film and television, Emmy-Award winning actor Rome Flynn is steadily making his move into music as an R&B singer/songwriter. He recently released the sexy and sultry ballad and corresponding video, ‘Keep Me In Mind,’ which is heating up all over streaming platforms. The Afro-Cuban artist first introduced fans to his musical talents last fall when he released a teaser single ‘Brand New,’ that showcased what he calls his ‘Trap-R&B’ sound. The Chicago native came from humble beginnings, growing up with his single mother and seven siblings, where at a time the family was homeless and lived in shelters. The self-taught musician, who plays guitar and piano, grew up listening to inspirations such as Marvin Gaye and Teddy Pendergrass, first igniting his passion for music and songwriting. A talented athlete, he graduated high school with a full college basketball scholarship, but turned it down to chase his Hollywood dreams and pursue an acting career. Moving to Los Angeles on a whim with no back up plan, he worked several odd jobs before landing his first acting role. Rome has since made his mark on the small and big screen with such acting credits including: ABC’s highly successful Emmy Award-winning drama series ‘How To Get Away With Murder,’ ‘Madea’s Family Funeral,’ Lionsgate’s ‘The Haves and the Have Nots,’ and CBS’s daytime drama ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ for which he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Young Actor.
