Robert Vaughn, born Nov. 22, 1932, was an American actor. Robert started working at the young age of 22, appearing in a number of projects in the mid 1950s. It was, however, the 1960s when Robert’s star really began to rise in Hollywood.
In 1960, he appeared in the film ‘The Magnificent Seven,’ alongside Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Eli Wallach, and more in the ensemble western. That same year, Robert received his first and only Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in 1959’s ‘The Young Philadelphians.’ Between 1964-1968, he appeared in the series ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,’ for which he earned two Golden Globe nominations for Best TV Star.
Among his numerous honors, Robert won an Emmy Award for his work in ‘Washington: Behind Closed Doors.’ After a decades-long career, Robert passed away on Nov. 11, 2016 at the age of 83.
