Regina King, born January 15, 1971, is an American actress and television director. She was born in Los Angeles and later attended the University of Southern California. Regina’s won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and three Primetime Emmy Awards. ‘Time’ magazine named King one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2019. The actress was first introduced to fans in 1985 as Brenda Jenkins in the NBC television series ‘227’. Regina is also known for her roles in the television shows and films: ‘Friday’ (1995), ‘Jerry Maguire’ (1996), the animated series ‘The Boondocks’, ‘Southland’, ‘The Leftovers’, ‘American Crime’, ‘Seven Seconds’, ‘The Big Bang Theory’, ‘Boyz n the Hood’, ‘Poetic Justice’, ‘Legally Blonde 2’, ‘Ray’ and ‘Miss Congeniality: Armed & Fabulous’. Regina’s performance in the 2018 film ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ won her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1997, Regina married Ian Alexander. They divorced in 2007. The pair has one son, Ian Alexander Jr., born in 1996.
