WGN America’s drug-trafficking crime drama is back. Season 2 of ‘Pure’ is now airing. Based on true events of the Mennonite mob, season two picks up with Anna going it alone after Noah disappears for a year. As the new head of her home, Anna finds herself doing what she needs to do in order to protect her family, even if it means reorganizing the cocaine pipeline while answering to the Mexican cartel’s boss. In an attempt to shield her children from their involvement with the drug cartel, Anna finds herself in the very center of the drug ring she and Noah attempted to take down.
The six-episode, one-hour series stars Ryan Robbins as Mennonite-pastor-turned-drug-lord Noah Funk; Alex Paxton-Beesley as Anna Funk, Noah’s strong-willed wife who is now reorganizing the drug-smuggling operation; Zoie Palmer as the ambitious, etiquette-challenged police accountant, Valerie Krochak; Gord Rand as Noah’s disgraced brother, Abel Funk; and Victor Gomez as the cunning Mexican drug cartel boss, Hector Estrada. Plus, Alyson Hannigan joins the cast as recurring guest star for the role of Esther Dunkel, a lapsed Mennonite who has been funneling cartel cash through a local bank.
