Prince William & Kate Middleton — College sweethearts Prince William and Kate Middleton first met when they both attended the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in 2001. After years of dating, the heir to the U.K. throne, finally married Kate on April 29, 2011. The couple, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, wed at Westminster Abbey in London. Prince William’s younger brother, Prince Harry, was his best man. Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge – as she is officially known – gave birth to the couple’s first child, Prince George, on July 22, 2013. George became a big brother two years later on May 2, 2015, when Kate gave birth to Princess Charlotte. The family celebrated the arrival of a new member, Prince Louis, on April 23, 2018. Kate gave birth to all three children at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, the very same place where her late mother-in-law, Diana, the Princess of Wales gave birth to sons William and Harry in 1982 and 1984 respectively.
