Mary J. Blige — Mary J. Blige is a singer that has made quite an impact on the music industry. She started off her career as a backup singer for Uptown Records in 1989 and quickly dominated the R&B world as a solo artist. She released her first album ‘What’s the 411?’ in 1992 and it quickly rose to the top of the R&B charts, making her one of the most successful R&B artists of that year. Her second album, ‘My Life’, which she released in 199, became a breakthrough album for her, debuting at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

Mary went on to record and release several more albums and has also made her way as an actress, starring in several films and television spots. She has won nine Grammy Awards for her work in music and has been nominated for Academy Awards and Golden Globes.

Mary married her manager Martin ‘Kendu’ Isaacs in 2003 but the couple divorced in 2016.
