She never promised you a rose garden, but Lynn Anderson lived up to her title as a country music hit maker. The North Dakota native would do down in history as one of the greatest women of country music, even making Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Country Artists of All Time”. She had a series of number one hits throughout her career, but she is perhaps best known for the 1970 song, ‘Rose Garden’.
Sadly, she passed away at the age of 67 at her home in Nashville, even though she was performing right up until the time of her death. She died suddenly of a heart attack shortly after a trip to Italy.
