Kiddy Smile takes a risk by defying the ‘black tuxedo and bow tie’ dress code for men at the Cannes Film Festival. He wows on the red carpet in a dramatic floral grown for the screening of ‘Dolor y Gloria’ (Pain and Glory) in Cannes, France on May 17, 2019.
Kiddy is a DJ whose real name is Pierre Hache. He’s famous in Paris’ ‘ballroom scene,’ a dance movement founded by queer and transgender people that rose to prominence in the ’80s. Pierre actually grew up outside of Paris (Groussay to be exact) in low-income housing, but rose to fame thanks to his participation in the ballroom scene, according to ‘The New York Times.’ Pierre has enjoyed multiple successes: his most famous hit, ‘Let A B!tch Know,’ drew over one million views on YouTube; he released his debut album ‘One Pony Trick’ in Aug. 2018; the French Republic’s president, Emmanuel Macron, invited him to play at the presidential palace. Not only involved in music, Kiddy has starred in Gaspar Noé’s film ‘Climax.’
