Multi-hyphenate Kathryn Gallagher is an American actress, singer and songwriter. She’s best known for her portrayal of Bella Fox in the Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill, for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She made her Broadway debut in Spring Awakening as Martha in 2015 after performing it on the Regional Tour. Kathryn went on to become popular in pop culture with her role as Annika Atwater in the Netflix series You, as Lia in The Flash and her upcoming role in Modern Love season 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
In addition to her TV and Broadway performances, Kathryn is an avid singer-songwriter, which she has gotten to heavily pursue due to the pandemic. “I began writing the songs from Demos Vol. 1 the week before we started rehearsals for Jagged Little Pill, and that was when the inspiration began. But I had to put a big pause on everything I was feeling in my personal life when the show started,” she explained in an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife.com, revealing that 2019, in particular, was a hard year of heartbreak. “I put it on pause until the first night of the Broadway shutdown and the pandemic, and ended up recording that song that I started writing in the beginning of September 2019, called ‘Friends to Entertain.’ I finally had time to go back and dive in and that was really cathartic.”
