Kate Mara, born February 27, 1983, is an American actress. Kate rose to fame on the series ‘Nip/Tuck’ where she played Vanessa Bartholomew. After a number of guest appearances on various shows, Kate landed the role of Shari Rothernberg on the series ‘24.’ She went on to land a lead role in the film ‘Zoom’ and in the 2006 movie ‘We Are Marshall.’ By 2010, Kate earned one of her most widely known roles playing opposite James Franco in the Oscar-nominated film ‘127 Hours.’ She landed a recurring role in 2011’s season of ‘American Horror Story’ and by 2013 landed the role of Zoe Barnes on the Netflix series ‘House Of Cards,’ for which she earned an Emmy nomination. Kate is married to actor Jamie Bell and the couple have one child together. She is also the sister of Oscar-nominated actress Rooney Mara.
