‘Jurassic Park’ became a massive blockbuster when it was released on June 11, 1993. The film, based on Michael Crichton’s book, kicked off the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise. ‘Jurassic Park’ was directed by Steven Spielberg and earned $912 million in its original theatrical run. The film follows a paleontologist, scientists, and two kids who have to survive when a power failure causes a theme park’s cloned dinosaurs to be able to run loose.

Laura Dern played Dr. Ellie Sattler in the 1993 film and reprised the in the 2001 sequel. She notably played Amy in the series ‘Enlightened.’ She received an Oscar nomination for her performance in the movie ‘Wild’ in 2014. She won an Emmy and Golden Globe for her role in ‘Big Little Lies.’ She won her first Oscar for her performance in ‘Marriage Story.’ Her other major movies include ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ ‘Little Women,’ and more. She will return to the role of Ellie Sattler in the upcoming 2022 film ‘Jurassic World: Dominion.’
