John F. Kennedy may be dead, but his legacy lives on forever. The 35th president of the U.S. comes from the storied Kennedy family, many of whom have entered into politics and courted scandal over the years. JFK and his wife Jackie Kennedy had four children, but only daughter Caroline Kennedy is alive today after brother John F. Kennedy’s Jr.’s tragic death in a plane crash in 1999.

Caroline has three children with husband Edwin Schlossberg, and those three kids — Rose, Jack and Tatiana Schlossberg — are carrying on their grandfather JFK’s legacy. Over the years, they have dabbled in art and politics, keeping the Kennedy spirit alive.

Rose was reportedly very close with grandmother Jackie. Kennedy biographer Christopher Andersen told the New York Post in 2010 that the former first lady “saw Rose basically every day and doted on her.”

He would go on to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Aug. 2020, endorsing President Joe Biden. Offering a message of unity, he told crowds, “Times have changed, but the themes of my grandfather’s speech — courage, unity, and patriotism — are as important today as they were in 1960. And once again, we need a leader who believes America’s best days are yet to come. We need Joe Biden.”

Barack Obama is awarded the 2017 JFK Profile in Courage Award in Boston on May 7, 2017 by Caroline Kennedy and Jack Schlossberg. Michelle Obama was also there to support her husband.

During the event, Jack talked about his admiration for President Obama and compared him to President Kennedy. “Throughout his presidency, my grandfather made it clear that he alone could fix nothing; that he alone had no answers,” Schlossberg said.

“He had the courage to plainly admit America’s shortcomings, to then lay out bold plans to address those problems and to ask his fellow Americans for help in solving them … he inspired a generation to enter public service and to ask what they could do for their country.”

“President Barack Obama inspired me in the same way,” he continued. “My life changed in 2008 because a young candidate was fired up and ready to go, and he told me ‘Yes we can.'”
