Joan Sebastian, born April 8, 1951, was a Mexican singer and songwriter. He wrote a number of songs for various Mexican groups, as well as writing his own work. During his decades-long career, Joan released 36 studio albums. He won seven Latin Grammy Awards and five Grammy Awards over the course of his career.
Unfortunately, Joan was taken far too soon. The singer and songwriter was diagnosed with bone cancer in 1999 and underwent various treatment processes. Although he did not have cancer for years after his initial diagnosis, it returned in 2007. He underwent further treatment, but the cancer returned a third and fourth time. Joan died at the age of 64 on July 13, 2015.
