Jennette McCurdy is an actress who is best known for playing Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon series ‘iCarly’ and its spinoff ‘Sam & Cat.’ ‘iCarly’ aired on the network from 2007 until 2012, while ‘Sam & Cat’ was on from 2013 to 2014. Jennette has also made appearances in a number of other television shows, and even briefly pursued a music career.
In 2017, Jennette announced that she would be ending her acting career to pursue writing and directing instead. Her decision stemmed from her mother’s death in 2013, which Jennette said shifted her goals for the future, as her mom was the one who had pushed her into acting as a child. In 2020, she wrote and performed a one-woman show about dealing with her mother’s cancer battle, but later said it was just a one-off experience. In March 2021, she confirmed that she was done with acting and would not be returning to the ‘iCarly’ revival series.
