Janelle James: Photos — Janelle James is a comedian and actress best known for her role as Principal Ava Coleman in the hit series ‘Abbott Elementary.’ The show has already been renewed for a second season, which will premiere in September 2022. Janelle has garnered much praise for her performance in the comedy series. In 2022, she earned a TCA Awards nomination for Individual Achievement in Comedy.

Prior to ‘Abbott Elementary,’ Janelle appeared in shows like ‘Crashing,’ ‘Corporate,’ and ‘Central Park.’ She was also a writer for the Showtime series ‘Black Monday.’ In addition to acting, Janelle is also a stand-up comedian. She was a featured comic in the Netflix special ‘The Standups.’
