James Corden has been on a roll since crossing the pond, becoming one of late-night TV’s favorite hosts since arriving at CBS in 2015. The English transplant rose to fame with his hit British sitcom ‘Gavin & Stacey’ in the late 2000s. Around the same time, he came up with the concept for the ever-beloved ‘Carpool Karaoke’. James began his run on ‘The Late Late Show’ in Mar. 2015, taking the reigns from Craig Ferguson.

The 22-time Emmy nominee has also appeared in films like ‘Into the Woods’ (2014), ‘Peter Rabbit (2018)’, the notorious adaptation of ‘Cats’ (2019), and ‘The Prom’ (2020), for which he received his first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.

In addition to his success in film and TV, James is a husband and father of three.

James opened up about dropping 28lbs in a Dec. 2021 interview with People. “I am down 28 pounds since the start of the year, and for the first time, the weight I’ve lost hasn’t come back,” he said, crediting Weight Watchers. “It’s game-changing and I feel incredible.”

He also joked, “I love that my clothes fit better, but I just love ice cream a little bit more than that.”

James was asked if he regretted making the box office bomb during a Feb. 2020 episode of his show with Justin Bieber. He explained on a scale of one-to-10, “So, 1 is the least and 10 is the most, Well, here’s the thing, I had the loveliest time making that film.”

He went on, “It took me six days and I loved every single second of it. So, I think you’ve got to be careful not to… you’ve got to decide things on your own personal experience, and I had a really great time. So, I don’t regret doing it at all because I decided to do it in the same way I decided to do many things. Some have worked, some haven’t. So, I’m gonna put it at a solid 5… 4.5, 4.5.”

I’m not a stand-up. I’m not even a sketch comedian.”

Slamming the critic, he said, “We’re not all as lucky as Bill Maher. We don’t all have a sense of superiority that burns 35,000 calories a day.”

Later, James added, “Let’s be honest, fat-shaming is just bullying. I’’s bullying, and bullying only makes the problem worse.”

The star talked about how he can be misread as arrogant with The Guardian in 2011. “This arrogance thing,” he said. “I’ve had that my whole life. I flip between, ‘Oh really? Oh, thank you. Wow. That’s amazing’ and, ‘Yeah! Of course I am.’ They’re both varying degrees of a self-defence mechanism. It can be from minute to minute that I change.

“I was talking to my mates and my friend Dodge, who I hadn’t seen for ages, said, ‘You really haven’t changed.’ I said, ‘In what way?’ And he said, ‘You know, being famous.’ Then my friend who lived over the road from when I was four said, ‘James has always thought he was famous.’ I think he’s probably right.”
