Jackie Collins, born Oct. 4, 1937, was an English romance novelist and the sister of actress Joan Collins. Jackie’s career kickstarted in the 1960s, where her first two romance novels were published. Jackie continued to ride her success through the subsequent decades. Over the course of her career, Jackie wrote over 30 romance novels and developed three different series — the Madison Castelli series, ‘Santangelo’ novels, and the ‘Hollywood’ series.
After decades of writing, Jackie passed away at the age of 77 on Sept. 19, 2015 after battling breast cancer. Jackie had been diagnosed with the disease six years prior but kept details of her illness out of the spotlight. She is survived by her three children from her two marriages.
