Colin Jost was born on June 29, 1982 in Staten Island, New York, and was only 22 when he was hired to be a writer on ‘Saturday Night Live’, shortly after graduating from Harvard. He became SNL’s writing supervisor following the 2012-2013 season. Eventually, he became the co-head writer on ‘SNL’ alongside comedian John Mulaney. After Seth Meyers’ departure from the show to host ‘Late Night’, Lorne Michaels asked Colin to take over the ‘Weekend Update’ chair alongside Michael Che, a new hire specifically for ‘Update’. Colin has been nominated for five Emmy Awards for his time on ‘SNL’. He has directed on movie for Netflix, called ‘Staten Island Summer;’ he and ‘SNL’ co-star Pete Davidson are both from Staten Island.
