Charles, who is originally from Alabama, is best known as a former professional basketball player. Nicknames “Sir Charles”, “Chuck”, and “the Round Mound of Rebound” throughout his career, he played 16 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for three teams. They included the Philadelphia 76ers from 1984 until 1992, the Phoenix Suns from 1992 until 1996, and the Houston Rockets from 1996 until 2000.
Throughout his basketball career, he received many impressive accolades that recognized his hard work and skill in the NBA. One of them was NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 1993. After his athletic career, he became a television analyst for TNT and CBS Sports.
As far as his personal life, goes, Charles married Maureen Blumhardt in 1989 and they welcomed their only child, daughter Christiana Barkley, that same year. Charles also has a grandson, Henry, through Christiana.
