The pride march and parade are outdoor events that occur around the world every June to celebrate the LGBTQ community and their rights. In case you didn’t know, June was dubbed LGBT Pride Month in honor of the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City. This was a pivotal moment in history, as it was the propeller for a big civil rights movement. Not too long after, the first ever gay activist organizations were formed in New York. And then just one year later, the first Pride March ever was held on Saturday, June 27, 1970, in which people marched from Washington Square Park to the Water Tower.
New York has always had one of the biggest parades in the world and garners around 4 million spectators every year. Amongst these millions of people are celebrities, of course!
