The Critics’ Choice Association’s Celebration of Black Cinema and Television event in 2021 took place on Dec. 6. The award ceremony was held at the Fairmount Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. As always, the event, which began in 2014, honored achievements in Black filmmaking, and in 2021, for the first time, achievements in Black television were celebrated, as well.
Halle Berry received the Career Achievement Award, Jennifer Hudson was given the Actress Award for Film, Anthony Anderson was awarded the Producer Award for Television, and Barry Jenkins took home the Director Award for Television. The star-studded event was attended by celebrities that included Taraji P. Henson, Ruth Negga, and more. The A-list set made sure they were dressed to the nines for the red carpet ahead of the ceremony.
